The RE/MAX network of real estate brokerage firms in Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Southern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan are licensed through RE/MAX Regional Services (RRS) and are part of the number one real estate network worldwide.
In 1978, the first RE/MAX Regional office in Georgia was opened by Howard McPherson. In the years to follow Howard acquired the franchisor rights for the four additional regions of RRS: Kentucky, Tennessee, Southern Ohio, and Southeastern Michigan.
Today RE/MAX Regional Services awards RE/MAX franchise rights for all new, existing and growing offices within these markets. In addition to franchise administration, RRS provides the following services and support to its membership across five states:
RE/MAX LLC. was founded in 1973 by real estate agents Dave and Gail Liniger. The Linigers understood that a real estate brokerage firm would attract the top agents by allowing them to keep all of their commissions and simply pay a share of overhead expenses and management services. They called their new company RE/MAX, short for Real Estate Maximums. Their unique business model created a paradigm change in the real estate industry.
